Dercum disease - also known as Adiposis Dolorosa, Anders' syndrome and Dercum-Vitaut syndrome - is a rare condition that is characterized by multiple, painful fatty lipomas (benign, fatty tumors) that occur chiefly in post-menopausal, obese women of middle age.
CMT is an inherited neurological disease characterized by a slowly progressive degeneration of the muscles in the foot, lower leg, hand, and forearm, and a mild loss of sensation in the limbs, fingers, and toes. The first sign of CMT is generally a high arched foot or gait disturbances.
Achondroplasia is caused by a gene alteration in the FGFR3 gene. This gene makes a protein called fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 that is involved in converting cartilage to bone. clinical symptoms: short stature with short arms and legs, macrocephaly, frontal bossing and midface hypoplasia.
